I dropped my iPod touch 4g and it cracked the corner and left a nice crack across the screen?

I dropped it like 6 inches. It actually fell from my lap but I will call it an "accident." I need to know if I can send this somewhere like Wal-Mart or Apple to get it fixed or get a new one. My mom bought this iPod at Wal-Mart. From what I was told, she did not buy the care thing or whatever for electronics. I was wondering if I could send it to Apple for Wal-Mart or something to get it fixed or get a new one. you may have a warrenty, call apple, and they will talk to you bout it.





But do not send it to apple if there gonna charge you to fix the screen, its cheaper if you do what marcus said and go on amazon or ebay and just buy an ipod recovery kit.

I have had this happen before! You bring it in to apple and instead if replacing the screen they just give you and iPod for a discounted price. When this happened to my old 8gig iPod touch 2g it was like $120. I don't know if the prices change between states or how much it would be to for an iPod touch 4g. DON'T GET IT FIXED FROM APPLE STORE, EXSPENSIVE! What you need to do is buy a screen replacement kit off eBay or Amazon. You can replace the glass in screen with a kit. Search websites for tutorial of how to get it off before and after buying the replacement kit. Its much cheaper than going to one of those booth phone case stands or apple store.
If you have a warranty or guaratee ring up Apple and ask them can you send it back to them and can they fix it for free? They should fix it for free seeing you do have a waranty. Well you can take it to apple and they can replace your screen. It's a little expensive though.
