How long is the battery of an iPod touch 4g supposed to last?

Yesterday when I got it the battery lasted for about 5 hours. Now it lasted for 2. What's goin on?How long is the battery of an iPod touch 4g supposed to last?
Take a look at the technical specifications of the iPod Touch 4G here:

As you can see, the battery is supposed to last for 40 hours by listening to audio and 7 hours by watching videos. Depending on the settings you have set up for your iPod Touch, your actual results may differ significantly.

2 hours seems ridiculously abnormal, even for heavy usage. My iPhone 4, which has a similar lasting battery as your iPod Touch, lasts 10 hours with very heavy usage and 20-30 hours with moderate usage.

Try out these tips to extend your iPod Touch's battery:

If you still aren't getting very good results, you can get your iPod Touch replaced as it is still under warranty. Try taking it to the nearest Apple Store and see what they can do.

I hope this helps!
