Depends on what you do. if you are a guy who is always dropping his ipod go ahead and get the defender. It is a little bulky but great for protection. the commuter is less protective yet stylish.

What's the difference between the otterbox commuter and the defender for the itouch 4g?
the defender is suposed to have more protection than the commuter, is the defender a lot thicker? because if the defender is to thick or isnt much better than the commuter, i would probably get the commuter because it looks better.What's the difference between the otterbox commuter and the defender for the itouch 4g?
