How do I know if my iPod touch 4g is jailbroken?

I don't want to jailbreak it, because I just don't wanna risk my I pod touch getting screwed, but I just went on the Internet on my iPod touch and then all of a suddenly my iTouch started acting all weird, I have no idea how the jailbreak crap works, obviously, so what could this be? Jailbreaking doesn't steal your identity does it?How do I know if my iPod touch 4g is jailbroken?
ok first unless you went to www.jailbreakme.com on your ipod your not jailbroken ( and that only works on the 3.0 software) also the only good thing about a ipod 4th generation jailbreak is the apps. but to answer your question no your not jailbroken and no they cant steal your identity UNLESS! you paid for a jailbreak (most are free though) using a credit card. How do I know if my iPod touch 4g is jailbroken?
it cant be jailbroken unless YOU have jailbroken it... its just not something that can happen automatically, theres a physical process to resetting the hardware and putting it into the appropriate mode for jailbreaks.

anyway, if its jailbroken, there should be two hardwired apps that you cant get rid of: Cydia (the jailbreak appstore) and Winterboard (the panel to change background and UI colors). so if you dont see any of those, its not jailbroken.

that said, you really should jailbreak your ipod, even if you dont seem to have a use for it, the jailbreak will give you so many more options so that when things start to screw up like your internet, you can fix, or try to manage them yourself without sending it to apple

oh yes, they cant steal your info unless you've paid to jail break it (in other words, you fell for a scam). jailbreaks are free and require no personal information, and cant themselves extract any such info from the ipod. How do I know if my iPod touch 4g is jailbroken?
Jailbreaking simply allows you to get apps from sources other than the App Store. Jailbreaking installs an app called Cydia, from you can get whatever you want. It does not steal your identity. The reason your iPod is being weird is...well, quite frankly, it's made by Apple.
