Facetime, better battery performance, overall better gaming expierence, higher quality videos, camera, supports useful applications that older devices dont, allows new apple system upgades that dont work on older devices. Just tell them how much more enjoyable it will be for you and im sure they will understand. just sell your touch to pwn shop or ebay and tell your parents you lost it
